Art theme camp will be host in the afternoon from 1:00-3:00, for students signing up full day camp for Art week, summer study club will be in the morning from 10-12:00.
Basic Day Camp
We will offer basic day camp on 6/3-6/7, 7/29-8/2, 8/5-8/9 to support working parents, there will be individual workshop such as craft, baking, coding, group activities, and daily study club.
Price for Full Day Camp (9am-3pm) : $220/week
Price for Extended Day Camp (8:30-6:30) : $250/week
Week of 7/22-7/26
Crosspoint church will host Vacation Bible School (VBS) and Sport Camp in the week of 7/22-7/26, JKC will be closed that week.
Theme Camp Description
This camp was designed to help children develop creativity, problem solving skills and imagination. Children will have a great opportunity to present and exhibit art works that express their own creativity,
feelings and unique self-expression painting styles. They will learn how to use knowledge of structures and functions, the differences among visual characteristics and purposes of art to carry ideas.
Goals for classes:
1) Students will be able to demonstrate understanding of techniques, use different kind of materials/techniques/processes/notations of each art form, and diverse cultural/historical contexts of the arts.
2) Help students discover their own unique painting styles and find out the most favorite technique. Children will learn the foundation of how to use tools and materials, developing skills, and inventing new ways to create.

Kids will learn the rules for the game, practice the basic skill, participate in games for single and double.

Enjoy doing some homestyle baking with Auntie Sindy. Learn basic kitchen etiquette, follow instruction, training on eye hand coordination while having the fun for measuring and mixing. Bring home some finish products for family to enjoy.

Kids will learn the rules for the game, practice the basic skill to participate in a game of the same age group.
Coach : Coach Wyatt Persin currently plays in the Las Positas College team, he coached Skyhawks basketball camps, and currently coaching for the East Bay Bulldogs.
Chess by Berkeley Chess School
Chess is fun and can be learned quickly and easily. Studies have found that chess helps improve test results in reading, science, and math, and produces growth in critical cognitive skills. Beyond academia, chess influences social behavior including self esteem, respect for others, patience, and good sportsmanship. And did we mention: it’s FUN!
Using Scratch platform, kids can learn computational thinking through storytelling, animation and games. This approach can help students to acquire skills for STEM subjects and beyond.
Teacher : Keith Chan graduated from the University of HK, Bachelor of Electronic Engineering, he has over 15 years of experience in the IT field, he is currently one of the staff in Joyful Kids Club, he teaches Math Olympiad, Coding, Lego Robotics and Science class in JKC.
This program provides an extension for kids who love playing with LEGO. The models that they build can be controlled through creative programming. Also they will learn how to break down a task, work with buddies and solving problem along the process.

Introduction to Electronic Circuits
Learn about the basis components of electronic circuits: Resistors, Capacitors, LEDs,Transistors, Inductors, Integrated Circuits and more.. Practice building and designing different circuits to get hands on experience on how a circuit works.
Teacher : Louis Chong graduated from University of Science and Technology of Hong Kong, Bachelor of Electronic Engineer, he has over 20 years of experience in the semiconductor and Wi-Fi field. He also serves in the children ministry of Crosspoint Church teaching Sunday science class.
The course will offer training in the following areas: vocal (choral) and rhythm. Children are taught some finest choral literature using the methods of Hungarian music educator Zoltan Kodaly.
This session is designed to develop music literacy, healthy vocal techniques and choral artistry. Children will be taught the singing and reading of music scales using letter names and solfege system (do re mi fa so la ti do), with the addition of doing Curwen hand signs to aid in their tone production.
Children will have so much fun as the music concepts are introduced and developed through musical games.
Teacher : Velma Chan
Velma Chan holds a Bachelor of Music degree in Music Education, a Master of Church Music degree in Pipe Organ, and has received Kodaly training from Holy Names University, Oakland. She is currently a staff of Cantabella Children’s Chorus, serving as their Director for the Training Choir Division and Associate Director for the Children’s Choir. She is an active member of the Music Teachers’ Association of California and serves as Branch Chair for its Certificate of Merit Program. She performs regularly in local ensemble groups, and teaches in her private piano studio in San Ramon.
