Greetings, fellow brothers and sisters. Over the next three weeks, I will present a fictional dialogue between a daughter and her hard-working father. Although it’s not real, the conversations depicted are based on real conversations. I understand that many of you are struggling to balance a demanding job while also wanting to strengthen your family bond. My advice is look to our heavenly father, everything starts with our relationship with our Heavenly Father. I look forward to hearing your thoughts and opinions
Dear always busy Dad,
I am a 7-year-old girl and I have a wish. I wish you would spend more time with me. I know you are very busy, but I feel like you are always working and don’t have time for me. It makes me sad.
But I know that the Bible teaches us to honor and obey our parents. In Ephesians 6:1, it says “Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right.” So even though I wish they had more time for me, I know that I should still show respect and love to them.
I also know that the Bible teaches us to put others before ourselves. In Philippians 2:3, it says “Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves.” So even though I want my parents to spend more time with me, I know that I should be understanding and patient with them because they are working hard for our family.
I pray that God will give me more time with you, but until then, I will continue to love and honor God, and put your needs before my own.
God bless you all!
Sincerely,
A 7-year-old girl who loves her Dad.

This month in Orange Kids we are working on the lesson of “Respect”
Respect is a lesson of heart not just in the head. We have to show our child what respect is like in order for them to learn. I pray that you will creating more moment with your child and family.
Do to others as you want them to do to you. Luke 6:31 (NIrV)
