我要感謝讚美神，因為我再次經歷與弟兄姊妹同工的喜樂。星期四晚，我召開了今年第二次的全教會理事會議，主要議題是選舉出第一批教會執事候選人和相關的決議事項。雖然會議進行了兩個多小時，理事會的成員不單熱衷表達自己的意見和想法，更讓我感受到大家一起事奉神的積極與同心。感謝讚美神！

教會議事會已選舉出八位執事候選人，敞若他們接受提名，將於下週向會眾公告，並在五月十七日的會員大會中由會員通過確認。除了選立執事和相關的議案，教會憲章修訂委員會亦將會提出會章需要修訂的事項。請教會會員預留時間出席參加。會員大會將於五月十七日下午二時卅分在Milpitas 主堂舉行，會員必須親身出席參與投票。

星期五晚，我經歷到天父的額外祝福。在我和師母離開San Leandro分堂時，在門口遇到一位特別來參加聚會的姊妹。她告訴師母剛從療養院探望父親回來，她父親的情況並不樂觀。於是師母請她帶我們去探望她父親。在路上才曉得她父親到九月就一百歲，仍未信主。我和師母到療養院後，發覺她父親竟然十分清醒，我就把握機會和他分享福音，鼓勵他認罪悔改，邀請耶穌做他的救主。他竟然一字一句，很清楚地跟我作了一個認罪悔改的祈禱，並不像一個垂死的人，他在我們的見證下接受了耶穌做救主。感謝讚美神！

我們在離開San Leandro分堂時遇到這個姊妹是個偶遇，聖靈感動我們立刻跟她去療養院探望她父親是神的工作，要讓這位九十九歲的老人家有得救的機會；而這個姊妹的父親願意在極清醒的情況下認罪悔改，接受救恩，明顯是天父的祝福和聖靈的工作。我和師母卻有幸能與神同工，這真當天額外的祝福。聖經說：務要傳道，無論得時不得時。Amen!

代禱事項

• 1. 讚美並感謝神，祂讓這位99歲的老人家有機會認識神的愛，最後接受了耶穌的救恩。讓我們祈求神的饒恕與平安從此與祂同在。
• 2. 為上週四教會理事會提名的執事候選人禱告，願他們蒙主悅納，甘願成為教會的領袖僕人。
• 3. 為神繼續供應教會的需要禱告，使我們有足夠的人力和物力在教會發展和建立主的事工上能力上加力。
• 4. 為我們的生命小組事工禱告，願它真正成為基督徒和教會成員實踐信仰、建立教會的平台。
• 5. 為正在經歷上人生挑戰和困難的弟兄姊妹禱告，願他們在困境中經歷神的同在和保護。祈求神讓他們能將一切憂慮交託給祂，並期待經歷神的恩典和祝福。

From the Heart of a Shepherd

I want to thank and praise God for giving me the joy of working with brothers and sisters in Christ. On Thursday evening, I conducted the second church council meeting of the year, and the agendas were to nominate the first batch of church deacon candidates and related resolutions. Although the meeting lasted for more than two hours, the council members not only enthusiastically expressed their opinions and ideas, but also demonstrated an united spirit for the service to God.

The church council nominated eight deacon candidates. If they accept the nomination, they will be announced to the congregation next week and confirmed by members of the Church at the membership meeting on May 17th. In addition to the election of deacons and related resolutions, the church bylaws revision committee will also propose some amendments to the bylaws. Church members are requested to make time to attend the membership meeting which will be held at 2:30 pm on May 17th in the Milpitas main campus. Church members must attend in person to vote.

On Friday evening, I experienced an extra blessing from the Heavenly Father. As my wife and I were leaving the San Leandro campus, we met a sister in the parking lot who came for the evening fathering. She told my wife that she had just returned from visiting her father at the nursing home, and that his condition was not optimistic. So my wife asked her to take us to visit her father right awy. On the way, we learned that her father would be 100 years old in September and still hadn’t believed in the Lord. When my wife and I arrived at the nursing home, we found that her father was remarkably lucid. I seized the opportunity to share the Gospel with him, encouraging him to confess his sins, repent, and invite Jesus to be his Savior. It amazed us that he could clearly and distinctly confessed his sin in front of us, not like a dying man. He accepted Jesus as his Savior and Lord. Praise be to God!

Our meeting with this sister in Christ while we were leaving the San Leandro campus was an unplanned encounter. It was God’s grace that the Holy Spirit moved us to visit her father right away, giving this 99-year-old man a chance to receive salvation. And the fact that this sister’s father was willing to confess his sins, repent, and accept salvation while in a state of perfect lucidity was clearly a blessing from God and the work of the Holy Spirit. My wife and I were fortunate enough to work with God; this was truly an extra blessing to us that day. The Bible says: Preach the word, in season and out of season. Amen!

Prayer Requests

• Praise and thank God for giving the 99-year-old man an opportunity to learn about God’s love and end up to receiving the salvation from Jesus. Let us pray that God’s forgiveness and peace be with him from now on.
• Pray for the deacon candidates nominated by the church council last Thursday that they would receive affirmation from the Lord and be willing to serve as lead servants of the Church.
• Pray for God’s continued provision to the church so that we will have enough manpower and resources to develop and establish the ministry of the Lord at our church.
• Pray for our life group ministry that it can indeed become a platform for Christians and church members to practice our faith and build up the Church.
• Pray for God’s brothers and sisters in Christ who are undergoing life challenges and difficulties that they would experience God’s presence and His protection in their situation. Pray that they will be able to leave all their worries to God and look forward to experiencing God’s grace and blessings.
