牧人心語

上星期日，五月十七日，我們教會舉行了一個極具歷史意義的會員大會。在會中，匯點人選出八位教會執事，以協助教牧同工牧養教會會眾；我們在會中亦修改了有關會員資格和會員大會的部分細則。會員大會的時間比預期長了點點，但弟兄姊妹們對教會的關心和支持實讓我感動。我將會和被選立的執事開會討論有關如何協助牧師們牧養教會的細節。

這個星期五晚八時，五月二十九日，「泥土音樂」的創辦人，台灣知名基督徒詩歌創作人盛曉梅和她的團隊將會在Milpitas主堂舉行音樂佈道會。請為你認識的慕道朋友祈禱，並邀請他們到時出席參加。

我們的青少年人分別在六月和七月有短期宣教活動，需要籌集經費。San Leandro的青少年已舉行了兩次籌款活動。在六月七日星期日，在Milpitas主堂的青少年亦將舉行義賣籌款。請在Milpitas主堂聚會的弟兄姊妹能鼎力支持，讓我們的青少年人有足夠經費參加短宣，體驗為主作見證、傳福音的祝福。

教牧同工計劃在六月七日下午在San Leandro分堂舉行英語101課，讓聽懂英語預備受浸和加入教會的弟兄姊妹參加。浸禮將會在六月十四日在San Leandro分堂舉行，請各堂會的堂會主任和英語同工邀請弟兄姊妹參加。

我們是生活在一個邪惡的世代中，教會是無可避免地被捲入一場屬靈的爭戰中。但列王記的作者向耶和華神祈禱時這樣說：

你的民若奉你的差遣，無論往何處去與仇敵爭戰，向耶和華所選擇的城與我為你名所建造的殿禱告，求你在天上垂聽他們的禱告祈求，使他們得勝。（列王記上 8: 44-45）

我要感謝讚美上帝，因為祂不單加添了教牧同工給我們，又在我們當中興起幫助牧師們牧養的領袖，更激發更多弟兄姊妹願意起來服事神，領人歸主。現在我們所需要的，就是向神求智慧，讓教牧同工們能分辨神的心意；我們也要求恩典和能力，使我們能在屬靈的戰場上得勝，讓神得榮耀。

代禱事項

• 1. 讚美並感謝神，讓我們選出教會第一批執事。請大家為他們屬靈生命的成長，能鑑察和明白神的心意，幫助牧師們帶領教會完成使命。
• 2. 為這星期五晚在Milpitas舉行的音樂佈道會祈禱。求神使用這聚會呼召更多迷途者歸家；也求神感動更多弟兄姊妹邀請慕道的親友參加。
• 3. 為青少年短宣的籌款工作代禱。求神藉此機會，讓青少年明白和體驗到為福音所要付出的代價和領受到祝福，愛主的心與日俱增。
• 4. 為教會的門徒訓練事工代禱。求神啟示牧者們應如何推動教會的使人作門徒事工，讓更多弟兄姊妹被裝備成為有生命力、有感染力，和有繁殖力的基督門徒。
• 5. 為假期聖經學校的最後籌備工作代禱。求神幫助容牧師和他的事工團隊能按時完成各項籌備工作，並在禱告中得啟發，讓參加的小朋友明白和回應神給他們每個人的愛。

From the Heart of a Shepherd

Last Sunday, May 17th, our church held a historic membership meeting. During the meeting, the congregation elected eight deacons to assist the pastors in shepherding the congregation. We also revised some details regarding member’s qualifications and the membership meeting of our bylaws. The meeting lasted a little longer than expected, but I was truly moved by the care and support from the brothers and sisters of the church. I will meet with the elected deacons to discuss the details of how to assist the pastors in shepherding the church in a near future.

This Friday evening at 8 PM, May 29th, the founder of “Clay Music” and her team will hold a music evangelistic meeting at the Milpitas Main Campus. Please pray for your seeker friends and invite them to attend the meeting.

Our youth have short-term missionary activities in June and July. They need to raise funds for the activities. The San Leandro youth have already held two fundraising events. On Jun 7th, the youth at Milpitas Main Campus will also hold a fundraising snack sale. Let me urge our brothers and sisters in Christ attending the services at the Milpitas main campus to give your full support to them so that our youth would have sufficient funds to participate in short-term mission trips and experience the blessings of witnessing for the Lord.

Our pastoral staff plans to hold an English 101 class on the afternoon of June 7th at the San Leandro campus for brothers and sisters who speak English and are ready for baptism or joining the church. Baptism will be held at the San Leandro campus on June 14th. Campus Pastors and English-speaking co-workers, please help invite those who are ready for baptism or joining the church to attend.

We live in an evil generation, and the church is inevitably drawn into a spiritual battle. But the author of Kings prayed to the Lord God, he said:

“When your people go wherever you send them to fight against their enemies, they pray to the city the Lord has chosen and to the temple I have built for your name. Hear their prayers and requests from heaven, and give them victory.” (1 Kings 8:44-45)

I want to thank and praise God, for He has not only added pastoral staff to our church, but also raised up leaders to help pastors shepherd the flock, and he also inspired more brothers and sisters to step up and serve God, leading others to the Lord. What we need now is to ask God for wisdom so that our pastoral staff can discern His will; we also ask for his grace and power so that we may be victorious in the spiritual battle, bringing glory to God.

Prayer Requests

• Praise and thank God for allowing us to successfully elect the first batch of deacons for the church. Pray that they would help the congregation grow spiritually, and able to discern and understand God’s will, so that they would assist the pastors in leading the church to fulfill its mission.
• Pray for the music evangelistic meeting this Friday evening in Milpitas. Ask God to use this special event to call more lost souls home; and also ask that God will move more brothers and sisters in Christ to invite their seeker-friends and family to attend.-
• Pray for the fundraising events for the youth short-term mission trip. Ask God to use this opportunity to help young people understand and experience the sacrifices required for the gospel. Pray that they would receive blessings from the Lord, and their love for the Lord grows daily.
• Pray for the church’s disciple-making ministry. Ask God to inspire out pastors on how to promote disciple-making in the church, so that more brothers and sisters will be equipped to become vibrant, inspiring, and multiplying disciples of Jesus.
• Pray for the final preparations for the Vacation Bible School. We pray that God will help Pastor Yung and his ministry team to complete all the preparatory work on time, and that they will be inspired in prayer to help the participating children understand and respond to God’s love.
