牧人心語

上星期日下午，我們教會首批執事第一次開會。執事互選出Derek 張弟兄為執事會主席，Cissy 尹姊妹為書記，並指派Phyllis 執事， Chris 執事和 Lora 執事，分別代表Pleasanton 分堂， San Leandro 分堂及 Milpitas 主堂出席教會理事會。其餘執事則被分派協助各堂會的牧者們照顧小組和牧養弟兄姊妹。

這八位被選立的執事，都是忠心愛主的弟兄姊妹，得到出席會員大會接近全數會員的支持。他們固然不是完美無瑕的人，與我們教牧同工一樣，是有缺點和會犯錯的教會肢體，但我看到了他們為主擺上自己和事主的熱誠，心裡感恩不盡。請大家為他們祈禱，求神賜智慧，並加添他們的信心、愛心和身體心靈的能力，可以有事奉的喜樂。

這星期招牧師和大部分教牧同工，將會前往Orlando參加每年一次的美南浸信會年會。讓教牧同工們對美南浸信會的理念、組織、事工和方向能有更深入的了解，也可以有機會認識其他浸信會同工，從別的教會身上學習，或得到啟發。請為他們的行程，並身心靈的健康祈禱。

San Leandro 的中文品格班正在招生；在Pleasanton 分堂舉行的運動日營的特價優惠仍然持續；Milpitas 主堂則於七月十日開始，一連五個星期五的黃昏，舉行Craze 一夏狂FUN 親子夜的外展活動，內容豐富，包括有體能訓練、射箭、繪畫、環保機械人和毛線小品等，請代為宣傳，歡迎闔家一起報名參加。

主內的弟兄姊妹，教會在暑假期間，為我們的家庭安排了不少活動。目的不單是照顧我們家人的需要，更希望藉著這些活動，鞏固主內弟兄姊妹間的關係，並與慕道朋友建立連接的橋樑。我希望大家看到，天父爸爸指引我們要強化教會事工，又加添了幾位教牧同工給我們，為要讓我們知道，祂仍然願意使用我們教會，將得救的盼望和神的愛帶給更多人。

主內的弟兄姊妹，讓保羅的話激勵我們：「殷勤，不可懶惰；要心裡火熱，常常服事主。在指望中要喜樂；在患難中要忍耐；禱告要恆切。聖徒缺乏，要幫補。」（羅馬書 12: 11-13）

代禱事項

• 1. 讚美神，祂賜給我們八位弟兄姊妹承擔教會執事的工作，幫助牧師們牧養會眾。我們應為他們樂意服侍主和關心主內的弟兄姊妹感謝神。
• 2. 為教會團隊星期一到星期四在奧蘭多出席參加美南浸信會年會代禱。求賜平安，並能獲得啟發，同心合意建立教會榮耀神。
• 3. 為青少年短宣和運動日營代禱。求神保守各項籌備工作，特別是培訓和裝備參加的青少年，讓他們學習事奉的正確態度，並在事奉中經歷神。
• 4. 為各堂會身體心靈有軟弱和有疾病的弟兄姊妹代禱。求天父在他們的病痛和困擾中體驗到神的同在，並在苦難中有從神而來的信心和平安。
• 5. 為各個堂會在暑期中的各項活動祈禱。求神興起更多弟兄姊妹一起參與服事，甘心奉獻時間、金錢和力量，讓神的家更加興旺。

From the Heart of a Shepherd

Last Sunday afternoon, our church’s first batch of deacons held their first meeting. The deacons elected Brother Derek Cheung as the chairperson of the deacon body and Sister Cissy Wan as the secretary. Deacons Phyllis, Chris, and Lora were appointed to represent the Pleasanton Campus, the San Leandro Campus, and the Milpitas main Campus, respectively. The remaining deacons were assigned to assist the pastors of their respective campuses in caring for their life groups and shepherding the brothers and sisters in Christ.

These eight elected deacons are faithful and loving brothers and sisters in Christ. They received the support of almost all members present at the last membership meeting. While they are not perfect like our pastors, who are imperfect and prone to make errors, I have seen their fervor in offering themselves to serve the Lord. I am indeed very grateful. Please pray for them. Ask God to grant them wisdom and increase their faith, love, and physical and spiritual strength, so that they may experience the joy of service.

This week, most of our pastoral staff will be traveling to Orlando for the annual Southern Baptist Convention. This will allow them to gain a deeper understanding of the Southern Baptist’s philosophy, organization, ministry, and direction. It will also provide an opportunity to meet other Baptist colleagues, learn from other churches, and gain inspiration. Please pray for their travel and their physical and spiritual well-being.

The Chinese character development class in San Leandro is now accepting applications. The special discount offer for the sports camp held at the Pleasanton Campus continues; and the Milpitas main campus will be hosting a Craze Summer Fun Family Outreach program starting July 10th, running for five consecutive Friday evenings. The program includes physical training, archery, painting, eco-robotics, and knitting activities. Please help spread the word. The whole family is welcome to register.

Brothers and sisters in Christ, the church has arranged many activities for our families during the summer. The purpose is not only to meet the needs of our families, but also to strengthen the relationships among brothers and sisters in Christ. We also want to build bridges of connection with those seeking the faith. I hope everyone can see that our Heavenly Father has guided us to strengthen our church ministry and has added several pastors to our pastoral team. Our Father in Heaven still desires to use our church to bring the hope of salvation and God’s love to many more people.

Brothers and sisters in Christ, let Paul’s words encourage us: “Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord. Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, persistent in prayer; help those in need among the Lord’s people.” (Romans 12:11-13)

Prayer Requests

• Praise God for giving us eight brothers and sisters to serve as church deacons, assisting pastors in shepherding the congregation. We should thank God for their willingness to serve and care for the brothers and sisters in Christ.
• Pray for the pastors who are going to attend the Southern Baptist Convention in Orlando from Monday to Thursday. Pray for God’s inspiration so they can learn to work together to build a church that glorifies God.
• Pray for the preparation of our youth short-term mission trip and sports camp. Pray that God will train and equip the participating youth, and enable them to learn the right attitude towards Christian service and experience God in their service.
• Pray for the brothers and sisters in each church campus who are physically or spiritually weak or ill. Pray that they will have faith and peace from God in their suffering.
• Pray for the various activities of each church campus during the summer. Pray that God will raise up more brothers and sisters to participate in service. Pray that they are willing to dedicate their time, money, and strength to get involved, so that God’s house may prosper even more.
