牧人心語

過去這星期，我和師母都病了。感謝主，我的問題不大，睡了一天就可如常工作，雖然間中還有咳嗽和流鼻水，星期天還可以講兩堂道。師母的情況就較嚴重，經常咳嗽，混身無力，睡得不好。但想起我們當中患重病的弟兄姊妹，他們經歷的磨煉就厲害多了。

人肉體一般的軟弱，吃藥睡覺，很快就好了。但人心情和靈性的軟弱，卻不是藥物和休息可以很快完全治好的。但這卻也是最容易被人忽略的問題，我們很多時都缺乏勇氣，面對自己在心靈和靈性上的軟弱，我們也懼怕別人的批評。

保羅初出來傳道時，因他過去曾打壓基督徒，很多人對他的服事有保留，而他又以使徒的身份四出講道，於是引來不少人批判的眼光。但保羅並沒有因此就避諱不教導門徒。他誠懇地勸戒在哥林多的信徒，說：「我被你們論斷，或被人間法庭審判，我都認為是極小的事，連我自己也不論斷自己。我雖然問心無愧，卻不能因此自以為義，因為判斷我的是主。所以時候還沒有到，你們不要批評，直等到主來；他要照出黑暗中的隱情，顯明人心裡的動機。那時，各人要從神那裡得著稱讚。」（哥林多前書 4: 3-4）新譯

主內的弟兄姊妹、匯點人，我們必須承認，我們的眼光短淺，只能根據有限的資料和我們能接觸到的環境作判斷。而很多時候，我們還會受自己的經驗、偏見、和狹隘的思維方式影響，以至不能做完全客觀和正確的判斷。所以，我們不要隨便說別人的是與不是。

不過，我想鼓勵大家，不要因對事件的不確定性而丟棄作神子民的責任。教會內的問題，從教會一開始就出現。所以，我們要學習在任何景況中，都要做個討主喜悅、忠心服事主的好門徒。這也是保羅給眾信徒的鼓勵：欣勤不可懶惰，要心裡火熱，常常服事主。要彼此同心；不要志氣高大，不要自以為聰明。

求天父爸爸繼續帶領我們，走在成長光明的道路上，並且經常能重新得力。

代禱事項

• 1. 為我們在種種挑戰中仍能站立，靠主面對和克服困難感謝讚美神。求天父賜我們一個謙卑的靈，使我們能經常仰望祂、明白祂，全心跟隨祂。
• 2. 為上週在Milpitas主堂舉辦的假期聖經學校感恩。我們有四十多位學生，其中十二人首次決志信主，22人重新立志做基督門徒。
• 3. 為這星期日出發的短宣隊祈禱。求神賜智慧給Pastor Caleb Hankin 及 Pastor David Choi，還有其他兩位導師，讓他們能利用短宣的機會，鼓勵和培養更多教會的未來領袖。
• 4. 為 San Leandro分堂招募中文品格班學生祈禱。求神使用這機會，把更多小朋友和年輕家庭帶到分堂那裡，讓他們有機會認識基督的信仰。
• 5. 為教會的小組事工代禱。求神讓各生命小組的領袖們能明白教會發展的重點和方向，帶領組員一起配合推動。讓我們能萬眾一心，尋找帶領更多「迷羊」歸家，並讓參加小組的弟兄姊妹有一家人一起服事的喜樂。

From the Heart of a Shepherd

Last week, my wife and I were both sick. Thank God, my condition wasn’t serious; I was able to work as usual after a day’s sleep. Although I still had a cough and runny nose occasionally, I was able to preach two sermons on Sunday. My wife’s condition was more serious; she coughed frequently, felt weak all over, and didn’t sleep well. But thinking of those brothers and sisters among us who are seriously ill, the trials they endure are far more severe.

Physical weaknesses can be quickly cured with proper medicine and enough sleep. But emotional and spiritual weaknesses cannot be completely healed quickly by medicine and rest. Yet this is also the problem easily overlooked. We often lack the courage to face our own emotional and spiritual weaknesses, and we fear the criticism of others.

When Paul first began his ministry, many people had reservations about his commitment because of his past persecution of Christians, and his preaching as an apostle attracted much criticism. But Paul did not shy away from teaching his disciples because of this. He earnestly admonished the believers in Corinth, saying, “It is a very small matter for me to be judged by you or by a human court; I do not even judge myself. Although I have no guilty conscience, I cannot be justified by it, for the Lord judges me. So do not judge until the Lord comes, and he will bring to light what is hidden in darkness and the motives in the heart. Then everyone will receive praise from God.” (1 Corinthians 4:3-4)

Brothers and sisters in Christ, members of the Church, we must admit that our vision is limited, and we can only make judgments based on limited information and the circumstances we have access to. We are often influenced by our experiences, prejudices, and narrow-minded ways of thinking, which prevents us from making completely objective and correct judgments. Therefore, we should not casually judge others.

However, I want to encourage everyone of you not to abandon your responsibility as God’s people because of the uncertainty of events. Problems within the church have existed since the beginning. Therefore, we must learn to be good disciples and faithfully serve Him in all circumstances. This is also Paul’s encouragement to all believers: be diligent, not lazy, but fervent in spirit, serving the Lord always. Be of one mind with one another; do not be proud, nor wise in your own eyes.

I pray that our Heavenly Father will continue to lead us on the path of growth and that we may constantly renew our strength in Him.

Prayer Requests

• 1. Praise God for our ability to stand firm amidst challenges, facing and overcoming difficulties in the Lord’s grace. Let’s pray that Heavenly Father grants us a humble spirit, enabling us to constantly look to Him, understand Him, and follow Him wholeheartedly.
• 2. Give thanks for the Vacation Bible School held last week at the Milpitas Campus. We had over forty students, twelve of whom made their first time decision to believe in Jesus, and 22 renewed their commitment to be Christ’s disciples.
• 3. Pray for the short-term mission team departing this Sunday, 6/28. May God grant wisdom to Pastor Hankin and Pastor Choi, as well as the other two mentors, so that they can use this opportunity to encourage and nurture more future church leaders for the Church.
• 4. Pray for the enrollment of students for the Chinese character development class at the San Leandro branch. May God use this opportunity to bring more children and young families to the church, giving them the opportunity to learn more about the Christian faith.
• 5. Pray for the small group ministry. Ask God to enable the leaders of each life group to understand the priorities and direction of church. Pray also that they would lead their members in collaborative efforts to advance the initiatives of the Church. Let us unite as one to seek and lead more lost sheep home, and let the brothers and sisters participating in the life groups have the joy of serving as a family.
