牧人心語

我和幾位教牧同工，一起參加了在德州福和市西南浸信會神學院舉行的美加華人浸信會雙年會，主題為 「同心赴使命」。這次共有來自美國和加拿大約二百五十位牧師、師母、傳道人、植堂人、神學生參加，其中約有五十人是第一次出席，而且有很多年輕的傳道人。匯點教會的李業基牧師被選為新一屆會長。

我回想剛開始參加這每兩年一次的華人浸信會盛事時，主要語言是粵語，只有華人同工分享如何開展教會裡的英語和國語事工。但發展至今，現在大會的主要語言是普通話和英語，並且是雙線進行，分別有主題講員和專題講員，反映出這是現今在北美華人教會發展的情況。我們必須要聯合華人教會中粵語、英語和普通話的會眾，同心推展華人教會的福音事工，完成救主耶穌交付給我們的使命。

大家可能已聽我分享過，教會未來發展的重點是下一代和普通話事工。意思並不是粵語事工不重要，乃是在北美的粵語事工已進入另一個發展階段，我們應成為發展下一代事工和普通話事工的後盾，讓教會能繼續茁壯成長，完成向普世傳福音的大使命。

我們教會今年的宣教大會將定於十月十日在Milpitas母堂舉行。我們今年沒有宣教月，卻將會推動一個全民宣教運動，鼓勵全教會弟兄姊妹參與向家人、朋友傳福音的工作。因為宣教委員會看到，傳講天國的福音給他們聽，是他們能得享救恩的唯一盼望。這次宣教大會的主題是：「沒有旁觀者-大使命，人人都上場。」並且，我們是首次分別以華語和英語雙線進行，有華語和英語的主題講員和專題講員。

我們深信早期教會之所以能迅速發展，單靠在耶路撒冷的十二使徒和七位執事是無法達成的。天國的福音能在短短一百年就傳遍當時羅馬帝國，是因為我們今天把自己定位為平信徒的基督徒，無論在那裡居住生活，他們就在那裡傳道（使徒行傳 八：4），和人分享自己的信仰和傳福音。讓我鼓勵大家把十月十日，星期六這一天留下來，一同參加全教會的宣教大會，讓我們同赴使命，人人都上場，不要做國傳講天國福音的旁觀者。

代禱事項

• 1. 感謝讚美神，祂竟將一個偉大的使命交託給我們，就是要把天國的福音傳遍地極，迎接主耶穌回來做王。求聖靈激發我們愛主的心，讓自己能成為神愛的出口，把這好消息傳給更多人。
• 2. 為教會的教牧同工代禱。求神加添他們的智慧和對天父心意的洞察力，讓他們能同心合意推動教會的傳福音事工。
• 3. 為各堂會利用中秋節舉行不同的外展和交誼活動祈禱。求神使用這些活動，讓弟兄姊妹們能建立更深的情誼和同工關係，更能透過這些活動，讓慕道的朋友們感受到我們在主基督裡的喜樂，和對生活的把握。
• 4. 為我們的英語事工代禱。我們正計劃強化門徒訓練和領袖訓練，幫助我們的英語事工轉化成跨代的英語事工，讓不同年齡層的人都能一起敬拜和服事神。
• 5. 為我們在Tracy 的福音堂代禱。求神加力給恩美傳道和她的同工們，賜他們勇氣、信心和盼望，積極向慕友傳福音。他們找到兩位很好的中文班同老師，幫助他們強化這個服事社區的活動。願他們能接觸到社區中更多的人。

From the Heart of a Shepherd

Several pastors and I attended the biennial conference of the Chinese Baptist Fellowship in North America and Canada, held at the Southwest Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas, with the theme “United in Fulfilling the Mission.” Approximately 250 pastors, pastor’s wives, preachers, church planters, and seminary students from the United States and Canada attended the conference, with about 50 attending for the first time, including many young preachers. Pastor Gideon Lee of Crosspoint Church was elected as the new president.

I recall when I first started attending this biennial event, the main language was Cantonese, with only Chinese speakers sharing how to start English and Mandarin ministries within the church. Now, however, the main languages have changed to Mandarin and English, and the conference is conducted in two parallel tracks, with Mandarin and English keynote speakers and seminar speakers, reflecting the current state of development in the North American Chinese churches. We must unite the Cantonese, English, and Mandarin-speaking congregations within the Chinese church to wholeheartedly advance the evangelistic work of the Chinese church and fulfill the great commission entrusted to us by the Savior Jesus.

As I may have already shared, the focus of Crosspoint’s future development is the next generation and Mandarin ministries. This doesn’t mean Cantonese ministry is unimportant, but rather that Cantonese ministry in North America has entered a new phase of development, and we should be the backbone of developing next-generation and Mandarin ministries, allowing the church to continue to thrive and fulfill the Great Commission of spreading the Gospel to the world.

Our church’s mission conference this year will be held on October 10th at our main campus in Milpitas. While we don’t have a mission month this year, we will be promoting a churchwide mission movement, encouraging all brothers and sisters in the church to participate in sharing the Gospel with family and friends. This is because the Mission Committee was convinced that preaching the Gospel of the Heavenly Kingdom to them is their only hope of receiving salvation. The theme of this mission conference is: “No Spectators – The Great Commission, Everyone is on the list.” Furthermore, this is the first time we will be conducting the conference in both Chinese and English, with keynote speakers and topic speakers in both languages.

We firmly believe that the rapid development of the early church could not have been achieved by the twelve apostles and seven deacons in Jerusalem alone. The gospel of the Kingdom of Heaven was able to spread throughout the Roman Empire in just one hundred years because we, as lay Christians, preach wherever we live (Acts 8:4), sharing our faith and the gospel with others. Let me encourage everyone to set aside Saturday, October 10th, to join the church’s mission’s conference. Let us all embark on this mission together, each taking part, and not be bystanders in spreading the gospel of the Kingdom of Heaven.

Prayer Requests

• 1. Praise be to God that He has entrusted us with a great mission: to spread the gospel of the Kingdom of Heaven to the ends of the world, and to welcome the Lord Jesus back to reign. May the Holy Spirit ignite in us the fire of love for the Lord, enabling us to become mouthpieces of God’s love and share the good news with more people.
• 2. Pray for the pastors and staff of the church. Ask God to add to them wisdom and understanding of the Father’s will, so that they may work together in unity to advance the church’s evangelistic work.
• 3. Pray for the various outreach and fellowship activities that different church campuses will hold during the Mid-Autumn Festival. Ask God to use these activities to help brothers and sisters build deeper friendships, and to allow those seeking the faith to experience our joy in the Lord Christ and our sense of purpose in life.
• 4. Pray for our English ministry. We are planning to strengthen discipleship and leadership training to help our English ministry transform into a more universal English ministry, so that people of all ages can worship and serve God together.
• 5. Pray for our Tracy’s Mission Church. Ask God to encourage and support Pastor EnMei and her colleagues, granting them wisdom, faith, and hope to actively share the gospel with those they have reached. They have found two excellent Chinese teachers to help strengthen this community service. Pray that they will be able to connect many more people in the community.
