復活節隨想

耶穌說：“我就是復活和生命；信我的人，雖然死了，也要活著。所有活著又信我的人，必定永遠不死，你信這話嗎？”
約翰福音 11:25-26

對於基督徒來說，復活節是最偉大而重要的慶祝日子。 因為耶穌的複活改變了一切。 這是人類歷史上最顯赫的事件。 耶穌的復活證明了三件事：

1) 復活證明耶穌就是他所聲稱的那個人 – 神的兒子，為我們的罪而死。
2) 復活證明耶穌信守承諾。 耶穌告訴他的門徒，他將“被殺，第三天復活”。因為耶穌必定實踐他的應許，所以你可以相信他的話。
3) 復活證明死後還有生命。 由於耶穌基督的複活，我們對未來充滿盼望。 這是一個不會讓人失望的盼望！

耶穌從死裡復活是鐵證如山，因為它已經發生，將年代分成公元前後。歷史上的每一件事，包括你的生日，都與復活節有關。耶穌絕對不是騙子。 許多人聲稱自己是上帝，但只有耶穌從死裡復活。 這就是全世界 24 億信徒慶祝復活節的原因。

但是，很多人不把復活節和耶穌聯繫在一起。他們可能會想到糖果，巧克力兔子和彩蛋。也許，他們從來不知道復活節的真正意義。

復活節是關於上帝以一種人類永遠無法拯救自己的方式拯救人類。 這是關於生命勝過死亡，救贖勝過審判，死人復活得永生。唯有耶穌的死和復活使我們能夠接近上帝。上帝說他會接受我們並宣判我們無罪，只要我們相信耶穌基督為我們而死和復活。這就是複活節的意義所在。

願我們一起慶祝復活節吧。因為他已經復活了！

Milpitas的部份時間區牧容旭輝傳道正式申請成為全職區牧，現正進入會眾諮詢程序。如有對他受聘有反對意見，請於6/12日前直接以書面或電郵與主任牧師聯絡。

容旭輝傳道出生於香港，八十年代中期移居美國加州。青少年時他非常熱衷參與教會，但成年後卻漸漸成了一個叛逆的無神論者。然而上帝向他混亂和空虛的生活發出了榮耀光芒，這讓他的一切都被徹底改變了。他將自己視為跨中西文化和社區之間的橋樑，盼望自己的經歷和領受能祝福周圍的人特別是下一代，並帶領他們認識神。

容傳道在十八歲那年開始為聯邦快遞工作，三十歲時他告別了唯一收入的工作，成為了 De Anza College最年長的學生。在進入聖何塞州立大學後，他涉足了電腦技術領域。之後，在 2008 年的經濟市場崩塌期間，神徹底改變了他的生活。神奇妙的帶領下2010年在天道福音中心結識了太太Christina，婚後育有一女兒容智恩。之後應神呼召在西方神學院進修取得碩士學位並開始全職在教會的事奉。在經歷了癌症的死蔭幽谷之後他更深刻體會、珍惜並立志勤做主工，迫切傳福音。

他非常喜歡戶外運動，旅遊、最喜歡吃墨西哥菜，玩動作 MMORPG，看動漫，享受可以和妻子女兒在一起的時光。他還是個實打實的孩子王。

Easter Food for Thoughts

“I am the one who raises the dead and gives them life again. Anyone who believes in me, even though he dies like anyone else, shall live again. He is given eternal life for believing in me and shall never perish.”
John 11:25–26

For Christians, Easter is one of the greatest celebrations ever. Because the resurrection of Jesus changed everything. It’s the most important event in human history. And it proves three things:

First, it proves that Jesus is exactly who he claimed to be. He repeatedly said he was the Son of God who came to die for our sins. And he did just that.

Second, the resurrection proves that Jesus keeps his promises. Jesus told his disciples that he would “be killed and on the third day be raised to life” (Matthew 16:21). Because Jesus kept that promise, you can trust the other promises in the Word of God.

Third, the resurrection proves that there is life after death. Because of Jesus Christ’s resurrection, we have hope for the future. And it is a hope that will not disappoint!

Nothing can cancel Jesus’ resurrection because it already happened, splitting the calendar into B.C. and A.D. Every event in history, including your birthday, is dated in relation to Easter. Why? It proved Jesus wasn’t a liar. Many have claimed to be God, but only Jesus offered proof. This is why 2.4 billion believers around the world celebrated Easter.

But a lot of people don’t associate Easter with Jesus. They may think about candy and chocolate bunnies and egg hunts, but they have forgotten – or have never known – what the true meaning of Easter is all about.

Easter is all about God saving humanity in a way that it could never save itself. It’s about life overcoming death, redemption overcoming judgment, and the dead being raised to eternal life.

Where else are you going to get power like that? Nowhere. Who else can give that to you? No one. If you don’t get it from Jesus, you won’t have it. That is an amazing grace, and it’s available to us today! What’s the qualification? We must believe.

The good news is that the death and resurrection of Jesus give us access to God. In other words, we can only get to heaven by trusting in God through his Son, Jesus Christ. God says he will accept and acquit us — declare us “not guilty” — if we trust Jesus Christ to take away our sins.

That’s what Easter is all about. You’re forgiven. Jesus died for you. You can live with hope and not condemnation. You can be free. I can’t wait to celebrate Easter with you.

For He is risen! He is risen indeed.

Pastoral Announcement

Milpitas part time family pastor Sam Yung has applied to our full time position. We have posted his biography in our weekly bulletin. If you have any objection to his hiring, please write to Pastor Ting Leung directly by 6/12

Sam was born in Hong Kong and moved to South Bay, California, in the mid-80s. During his youth, he was an eager Church attendee. As a young adult, however, Sam became an outspoken atheist. Then God spoke light into Sam’s life of chaos and void, and everything changed. He experienced life in Silicon Valley before and after the Asian immigration boom. Sam sees himself as a bridge between cultures and communities, and he wants to dedicate his life experience to leading the next generation into knowing king Jesus.

Sam started working for Federal Express the month he turned 18, and then at 30, he said goodbye to the only job he had known and became the oldest student in De Anza College. After attending San Jose State, he dabbled in the technology field. Then, during the housing market crash of 2008, God overhauled his life again for His Kingdom’s purpose, which includes giving Sam a chance to attend Western Seminary. 

Sam’s favorite things include; eating Mexican food, playing action MMORPGs, watching anime, and playing with his daughter.
